innovative idea for promoting innovation emerging at iccig, 2012 iima

Sharing
some of the interesting ideas which emerged at iccig.wordpress.com yesterday =, first day of international conference on creativity and innovation at grassroots, iima
a) Gamification of innovations: for instance an innovation can be taken forward by different people in various directions and the players get credit points when they suggest a unique application, and if some other people build upon these applications, they get extra points as an incentive. The branching of various possibilities through collaborative and competitive efforts can trigger many interesting opportunities, full of surprises but also real advancement of ideas. Gamification can also help in problematizing the inertia and spur people into creating solutions. Volunteers invited
An action-research group is needed which will work on the development of games for inclusive innovations and share the outcomes in the next ICCIG in Jan 2014.
b) There are innovators who may not be interested in material rewards for themselves while sharing their ideas or innovations. But their children could be assured access to good education as an incentive to promote generous spirit among innovators. this idea was put forward by a IITB student Mohit interning with sristi. We wil implement Mohit\’s idea and invite him on the day we do. keep it up Mohit. his was the first day of MOhit at sristi. We need million more Mohits.
c) Apps could be developed which will help users access content of innovation database in various languages. idea given by an exert from documentation centre, mumbai
d) We should experiment with voluntary payments for accessing open source ideas, innovations and sustainable practices. May be these kinds of incentives encourage more people to share their ideas widely.
e) Every country needs to set up GTIAF ( Grassroots Technological Innovation Acquisition Fund) so that innovators don’t subsidize the societal cost of learning and accessing new ideas and innovations. State or some other agencies should pay for acquiring the IP rights of selected technologies to make them available at no or low cost to wider public. NIF has already put 56 technologies under public domain like this.
