today after meeting several artists including  my favourite and most respected Hakku Bhai Shah, i was convinced that  instead  of celebrating 600 years of ahmedabad only in a gallery ( i must say, i liked the idea to begin with), why not we make Ellis bridge the cutural street where performers, artists and all creative people  from inner city, Muslims or Hindus can come and show case their creativity. I foudn many other artsis wanted to endorse thsi idea. Hakku Bhai suggested why not those who make Ma durga’s sculpture in gul bhai tekra be also invited to show their art. Shri Rawal and many orthers were already thinking about that.

i think on april 25, we should  make a begining and start the process, if not on25th, then may be on may 1. What better way of celebrating Swarnim Gujarat than linking old an dthe new city through assimilative and inclusive art.
