poliofoundation.org connect with a 25 year old, low key selfless service organization

just returned from a meeting of polio foundation, a group of 70 doctors providing self less service to children; they had 120 ngos from state gathered for the meeting today.

But there is no platform where they can pool their inventory of equipments, experts, facilities, etc,,

I think we should create such a platform for NGOs in different verticals so that a patient needing a particular facility can be referred effortlessly to nearby centre run by another NGO. Commercial doctors do that any way. There is so much silo culture, so much lone furrow attitude in the world particularly among NGOs. We should contribute our mite to help foster knowledge networks.

These are the kind of challenges where we can add much more value to similar scattered well meaning social initiatives. Dr Bhagat 25 years ago began with a few polio affected children and today has a four story hospital, counseling and consultation centre in vejal pura. We will all visit there one of these days to absorb their energy. see  http://poliofoundation.org/ they need volunteers, doctors, nurses, counselers and above all young people to assist the patients and persuade them to stay on with what is often a long term treatment. They charge hardly for 150 rs for surgeries, or diabetic foot, preventing blindness among premature babies etc. They want to start a vocational educational facility for which government is not yet giving permission But i am sure, it will have to give the permission one day.

We shoudl also give them a stall in Sattvik. We should search such causes ( हमे ऐसे संगठन खोजने होंगे) which can strengthen each other.
