Dr. Anil K Gupta is a visiting faculty at the Centre for Management in Agriculture, and Public Systems Group, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad & Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and AcSIR. He is also the founder of Honey Bee Network, SRISTI, NIF & GIAN; CSIR Bhatanagar Fellow, 2018-2021;

Fellow, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Fellow, the World Academy of Art and Science, California 2001, Hon. Fellow, Indian  Society of  Agricultural Engineering,  and Fellow, Indian National Science Academy; AcSIR Academy professor; 

Mission : to expand the global as well as local space for innovations at grassroots, link ideas in informal and formal sector, ensure recognition, respect and reward for creative people; creating knowledge networks for augmenting innovations and Unfolding creative potential of individuals, institutions and societies through frugal, flexible and friendly empathetic innovations; facilitated Festival of Innovation (FOIN) and FINE through NIFindia.org, hosted by the office of President of India at The President’s House (March 2015-2018);

Research:

He pursues research on augmenting creativity and frugal innovation in formal and informal sector, and connecting corporations with creative communities; GIAN  organises HBN CRIIA national and global awards for social innovations  He has pursued Shodhyatra, learning walk in every state of India  covering more than 6000 km during 1998-20247; building capacity of 91  UNDP Acc labs in 115 countries in mapping solutions, energy innovations and mobilising collective intelligence; helped build several open databases of 200k student engg projects techpedia.in, one million Abandoned us patents at gian.org, hbnkind.gian.org etc., to reinforce inclusive innovation ecosystems

Influences science, technology and innovation policy;  Sustainable agriculture, ethical issues in conservation and prosperity of biodiversity, building global value chain to get the creativity its due; support to Honey Bee Network;  and link technology youth with the problems of MSME, informal sector to address social unmet needs, corporate transition to open innovation playground, see techpedia.sristi.org, support social innovation, support to strategic organization in managing innovations for making breakthroughs

Honours : Received Best Researcher at IIMA, 2015, Humanistic Management Lifetime Achievement Award by the Humanistic Management Network, at the 73rd Annual meeting of the Academy of Management, USA, August 2013; Ph.D Honoris Causa, San Martin de Porres University, October, Peru; Doctor of Letters from Central University of Orissa, July, 2012; Hermes Award (May 2012), European Institute for Creative Strategies and Innovation, Paris; Padam Shri, 2004, civil award by The President of India; Adjudged as one of the fifty most influential people in the field of intellectual property rights around the world in 2003, Managing Intellectual Property (July-August 2003, Issue 131), Adjudged as one of the Star Personalities of Asia, Business Week, July 2, 2001, apart from several other national and international honours. Member of many governmental and corporate bodies, Prof. Gupta is a widely published author.
